Information for Applicants

 

·         Accepts research from any Medical Institution in Sri Lanka.

·         All research projects seeking funding through the Faculty Research Committee, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, must necessarily go through the Ethics Review Committee.

·         Accepts research dealing only with Western Allopathic Medicine.

·         Accepts research dealing with animal studies.

·         Review procedure
- Applications are submitted by persons.
- Application forms must be submitted in hard copy.
- Approximate time delay from fist submission to first consideration is two weeks to one month.
- All members review projects in detail.
- Researchers come in person for committee meetings for clarifications if necessary.
- Decisions are communicated to the researcher by post.
- Initially prior approval is granted. Final approval is granted on submission of the final report of the research on completion.
- Criteria and the guidelines which must be met before projects are approved included guidelines for the declaration of Helsinki.
