The meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the month. Applications received up to the last working day of the previous month are taken up at these meetings for review. The committee may contact the applicant before the meeting to clarify any matters or requet the applicant to be present at its meetings. The review process takes a minimum of two months. So please submit your applications early. The committee reserves the right to refuse to accept applications for projects that are due to commence within two months of the date of submitting the application or projects that have already commenced. No retrospective ethics clearance can be granted. Please examine FERCSL Guidelines  to determine whether your project may qualify for expedited review. If you require expidited review please state that you are applying for expedited review in the application form, otherwise it would be processed as a regular application. The application fee is Rs. 500/-. It has to be paid to the Shroff Counter of the Faculty of Medicine, Colombo. Applicants should email  our office to obtain application forms. These are only available electronically and will be sent to prospective applicants via email only.
